Community Guidelines

Last updated: January 1, 2026

BetterCampus is built to help students stay organised and learn with integrity. We want the BetterCampus library (themes and shared study sets) to be safe, respectful, and useful for everyone.

By using BetterCampus, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

1. What BetterCampus is for

Learning and productivity. BetterCampus is a third-party student productivity platform that helps you customise your LMS experience (like themes) and build study materials (like study sets) for honest learning.

Our community features exist to:

  • share helpful themes and study sets
  • help students study more effectively
  • keep the library clean, safe, and high-quality

BetterCampus is not a social network. Content that is not study- or productivity-focused may be removed.

2. Be respectful

Be kind, not cruel. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated.

Not allowed:

  • hate speech, slurs, or content that promotes hatred or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar protected characteristics
  • harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted intimidation
  • doxxing or encouraging others to harass someone
  • impersonation of another person or organisation

3. Keep it clean and appropriate

This is for students of different ages. Don't post NSFW, sexually explicit, or graphic content.

Not allowed:

  • pornography or sexually explicit imagery
  • sexual content involving minors (will be reported to appropriate authorities)
  • gratuitous violence, gore, or shocking content

If you're studying mature topics for legitimate educational reasons, use your best judgement and keep the content factual and non-graphic.

4. Library rules for themes

Themes should be safe and non-deceptive. Themes are for visual customisation and should not be used to trick people.

Not allowed in themes:

  • malware, malicious scripts, or anything intended to compromise accounts or devices
  • deceptive design meant to mislead users (for example, fake "submit" buttons, fake system alerts, or UI elements that imitate your school, LMS, or proctoring tools)
  • content that violates trademarks or branding rules in a way that implies endorsement by an LMS or institution

We may remove themes that are broken, unsafe, misleading, or that materially degrade the user experience.

5. Library rules for study sets

Study sets are for learning, not cheating. Do not upload restricted course materials.

Not allowed in study sets:

  • active or locked exams, quizzes, or tests
  • answer keys or solutions for graded work
  • instructor-only materials, unpublished notes, or content marked "do not share"
  • paywalled or copyrighted content you do not have permission to share
  • content intended to bypass or undermine academic integrity systems

If your instructor or school says something shouldn't be shared, don't share it.

6. Respect intellectual property

Only share what you have rights to share. Do not post content that infringes or violates another person's copyright, trademark, or other rights.

If you believe content on BetterCampus infringes your rights, please use our reporting tools or submit a request under our Copyright/DMCA Policy.

7. Protect privacy (yours and others)

No personal info. Do not post your own or anyone else's personally identifying information in themes, study sets, comments, or anywhere public.

Examples of personal info we don't allow:

  • full names (when identifying someone), personal emails, phone numbers, home addresses
  • student IDs, LMS usernames, screenshots showing grades tied to a person
  • private messages or private class content that identifies a person

If you see personal data posted, report it.

8. No spam or manipulation

Keep the library useful. Don't game the system.

Not allowed:

  • spam, repeated low-effort uploads, or misleading titles/tags
  • phishing, scams, or links designed to steal information
  • trying to artificially boost rankings, downloads, or engagement

9. Reporting and enforcement

We depend on the community. If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the in-product report tools or the support channel listed on our website.

We may take action including:

  • removing or restricting content
  • warnings or feature limits
  • suspending or terminating accounts
  • permanent bans for serious or repeated violations

10. Questions

Not sure if something is okay? The safest move is not to post it.
